DAY 1 HOME – HALIFAX, NS (2 NIGHTS) Our Atlantic Canada & Newfoundland tour begins with a relaxing flight to Nova Scotia. Spend two nights in the beautiful harbour city of Halifax as you get acquainted with your new travelling companions.

DAY 2 HALIFAX AREA The beautifully restored properties along the waterfront, famed National Historic Site, Citadel Hill, and National Museum of Immigration at Pier 21 are among the exciting places you will visit on your guided tour of Halifax. The late afternoon provides you with free time to explore the area. A couple of options may be to stop at Alexander Keith’s Brewery with costumed interpreters or explore the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic.

DAY 3 HALIFAX – BRIDGEWATER, NS Enjoy a leisurely drive along the Lighthouse Route to Peggy’s Cove – an authentic 19th-century fishing village with fisherman’s shanties and sea-sprayed cliffs. Along the way is a sweet stop at Acadian Maple Products for some sampling and shopping. Also on your itinerary: Lunenburg, another attractive coastal town, home of the Blue Nose Schooner – the ship featured on Canada’s dime – and the Fisheries Museum of The Atlantic. Lunenburg is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This evening, enjoy a welcome reception with your fellow travellers.

DAY 4 BRIDGEWATER – SAINT JOHN, NB At Digby, we board the ferry to cross The Bay of Fundy – known for the highest tides in the world. In Saint John, we have the opportunity to view the Reversing Falls.

DAY 5 SAINT JOHN – PRINCE EDWARD ISLAND (2 NIGHTS) Enjoy the coastal views on your morning drive through Fundy National Park and Hopewell Rocks – peculiar rock formations carved by the powerful action of the Fundy tides. Afterwards, we will go across the 12.9 km long Confederation Bridge to PEI and stop, take pictures and shop at Gateway Village. We will be spending two nights in beautiful PEI.

DAY 6 PRINCE EDWARD ISLAND A full-day guided tour of PEI and Charlottetown includes the fabled Anne of Green Gables Home, Cavendish Beach and North Rustico Harbour. In the capital of Charlottetown, we will be given enough time to visit the downtown and leisurely wander through the central shopping area of this delightful city. Tonight, enjoy one of PEI’s traditional mouthwatering Lobster dinners (other meal options available).

DAY 7 PRINCE EDWARD ISLAND – BADDECK, NS (2 NIGHTS*) Travel to Wood Islands to board the ferry across the Northumberland Strait to Caribou on the Nova Scotia mainland. We will cross the Strait of Canso – the deepest causeway in the world – onto Cape Breton Island for a three-night stay in the resort town of Baddeck, nestled on the shore of Bras d’Or Lake. Before arriving at the hotel, we will visit the Alexander Graham Bell Museum to see the many exhibits of this famous inventor who spent much of his life on Cape Breton Island, or you can take an optional boat tour of Bras d’Or Lake on the Amoeba.

DAY 8 BADDECK Imagine yourself in the highlands of Scotland as we follow the Cabot Trail through Cape Breton Highlands National Park. It is one of the most beautiful drives in North America, with dramatic vistas of mountains, cliffs, and forests that will be the backdrop for our picnic lunch.

DAY 9 BADDECK – NORTH SYDNEY, NS Visit the Fortress of Louisbourg National Historic Site, the largest historical reconstruction in North America. This Park depicts life in an 18th-century French fortified town. In the afternoon, tour The Cape Breton Miners Museum at Glace Bay. The Museum pays tribute to the region’s long and rich history of coal mining. The Museum is also home to the famous choir of miners – The Men of the Deeps. Take an optional underground tour of the Ocean Deeps Colliery, a coal mine located beneath the Museum building.

DAY 10 NORTH SYDNEY – CORNER BROOK, NL Travel by ferry from North Sydney across the Cabot Strait to Port aux Basques in Canada’s most easterly province, Newfoundland, where we will enjoy the warm hospitality of some of this nation’s friendliest people.

DAY 11 CORNER BROOK – COW HEAD/DEER LAKE AREA, NL See more scenic beauty of “The Rock” today as we travel deeper into Newfoundland. Journey through Gros Morne National Park, which due to its outstanding geology, was proclaimed a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1987. Lunch is included today. In the afternoon, we will climb aboard a catamaran and cruise the two connected fjords of Scenic Bonne Bay. Our guide will highlight the geological wonders, the rich cultural history and the Bay’s fascinating diversity.

DAY 12 COW HEAD AREA – GANDER, NL Watch the beautiful terrain abound as we travel east across Newfoundland. In Gander, which became an important airbase during World War II, tour the North Atlantic Aviation Museum, the Gander Int’l Airport and visit the Silent Witness Memorial. This evening, enjoy an Included Dinner followed by a traditional “Mug Up”.

DAY 13 GANDER – BONAVISTA – CLARENVILLE, NL Travel through Terra Nova National Park up the Bonavista Peninsula for a brief stop in Trinity to explore the historic properties and shops. Finally, a visit to the lighthouse at Cape Bonavista and a brief stop in Dungeon Provincial Park concludes this full day before reaching our stopover point in Clarenville.

DAY 14 CLARENVILLE – ST. JOHN’S, NL (2 NIGHTS) Travelling south, we pass through the scenic Conception Bay. On the way, we will visit Cape Spear – the closest point to Europe in North America – to take pictures and follow the trails. An included lunch on the waterfront followed by a visit to Ryan Premises, a National Historic Site dedicated to explaining the history of our cod fishing industry. Arrive early this afternoon in the provincial capital of St. John’s for a two-night stay.

DAY 15 ST. JOHN’S A local guide takes us on a Tour of the old seaport city of St. John’s. Begin at Signal Hill, where Guglielmo Marconi received the first transatlantic wireless signal; explore Cabot Tower with panoramic views from the top; also enjoy the quaint fishing village of Quidi Vidi. This afternoon is at your leisure. Tonight, our local tour guide hosts a unique party. Participate in a traditional ‘Screech-In’ Ceremony followed by a festive Fehr-Way Dinner – a perfect finale to an adventure in Newfoundland & Atlantic Canada.
