Day 1 Winnipeg – Minneapolis, MN Today you enter the United States and travel through North Dakota into Minnesota.

Day 2 Minneapolis – Chicago, IL Area Your travels take you southeast today as we enter Wisconsin, America’s dairyland. You’ll pass green pastures and rolling meadows along the edge of the Wisconsin Dells as we head to the Chicago area for the night.

Day 3 Chicago – Nappanee, IN (2 NIGHTS)  Indiana’s Amish countryside is a colourful combination of fertile farms and villages. You will be introduced to the ways of the Amish during your 2- night stay in Nappanee. This evening, enjoy the new Broadway musical, Big Fish, which centres on the reconciliation of a father-son relationship and discovers the truth behind the father’s tall stories.

DAY 4 NAPPANEE AREA Take a step back in time as you spend the day in this Amish County. Visiting the world-famous Shipshewana Flea Market & Auction with hundreds of vendors selling everything from fresh fruit to handcrafted furniture. This small community comes alive with a truly one of a kind atmosphere. It’s hard not to find a friendly face on these streets! Tour Menno-Hof this afternoon and discover the simple pleasures of the Mennonite and Amish ways of life. Menno-Hof’s multi-image presentations, historical environments and colourful displays take you on a fascinating journey.

DAY 5 NAPPANEE – BERLIN, OH (4 NIGHTS) Today you will arrive for a 4-night stay in the region containing the largest settlement of Amish people in North America.

DAY 6 – 8 NEW PHILADELPHIA AREADuring your stay in the area, a local guide will provide an informative Tour through Ohio’s Amish-Country. You’ll learn about the religious beliefs, work ethics and traditional practices of the Amish people.

While in the area, take in the sights at places like Miller’s Dry Goods and Quilt shop, Keim Lumber, Yoder’s Amish Farm and Heini’s Cheese Chalet. We’ll make a special visit to Warther Carvings. World Master Carver, Mr. Warther, has spent a lifetime re-creating the history of the steam engine in ebony and ivory. Mrs. Warther’s fantastic collection of 73,000 buttons is on display, arranged in beautiful designs in her lovely Swiss flower garden.

When we visit Walnut Creek Cheese bulk foods and country store, be sure to try their crowd favourite Haystack Meals! Visit Petersheim Family’s Handmade Baskets for a demonstration. See the World’s Largest Amish Buggy. We will make a stop at Coblentz Leather Goods, where you can not only shop but feed the goats after. On our way back to the hotel, we will also stop to see the World’s largest Cuckoo Clock.

Make a stop at Lehman’s Hardware Store – the store that time forgot. When you step into the 1840s era barn, you’ll feel like you’ve stepped back 100 years in time. Museum-quality antiques line the walls. Products you’re sure were discontinued years ago are still available here for sale.

Visit Walnut Valley Broom & Gift, and watch a broom making demonstration! Visit Hershberger’s Farm & Bakery and shop for fresh Fall produce, jams, jellies, baked goods, locally made arts and crafts and more! Here you will see the largest Belgian Draft Horse in the U.S. We will enjoy a candle carving demonstration at Lamp & Light Candle, and you will also have a free afternoon to explore.

One of the highlights will be a traditional Family-Style Meal at an Amish Home. The menu will include roast turkey, dressing, coleslaw, potatoes, vegetables and assorted pies! Afterwards, we will stir things up and learn to make peanut butter whip and take some home. Finally, on one of our evenings at the hotel, enjoy a delicious traditional Amish dinner.

DAY 9 NEW PHILADELPHIA – BIRCH RUN, MI  Today, we visit Frankenmuth – famous for its German atmosphere and food. After an early check-in at our hotel, a unique shopping experience awaits us at Bronner’s Christmas Store. Tonight, we enjoy a traditional Bavarian-style chicken dinner.

DAY 10 BIRCH RUN – IRON MOUNTAIN, MI  Proceeding northward, arrive in the resort town of Mackinaw City. After lunch, we cross the 5-mile long Mackinac Straits Bridge and journey westward along the north rim of Lake Michigan to arrive in Iron Mountain for the evening.

DAY 11 IRON MOUNTAIN – BEMIDJI, MN Our journey continues westward through the port of Duluth, located at the western tip of Lake Superior.

DAY 12 BEMIDJI – WINNIPEG, MB Today you re-enter Canada via the duty-free shop at Pembina, ND.
